Each November we adopt families who might need a little help making Christmas merry. Along with the usual sweaters, shoes and toys, we had some unusual requests this year. One family heats entirely with wood and have only stockpiled half of what is needed. It will be the first time we've given a pile of wood with a red ribbon.
St. Hubert Contest
December 22, 10:00 am.
Each year at the start of deer hunting season we bless and distribute religious metals with the image of St. Hubert. The stories tell of Hubert meeting Jesus while alone in the woods. The lord had come to heal his deep grief and set him on the road to a better life. St. Hubert thus is the patron saint of hunters and an example worth following. We've turned hunting season into a contest. The hunter that takes the buck with the most point wins. Prizes will be awarded in the youth and adults categories.

For many of us the Christmas holiday is fraught with memories of loss and so the "jolly" character of the usual services seem out of place. So we offer something different, a Blue Christmas service. This is a joint effort with the folks from Christ the King Lutheran Church and will be held there.
